Job Costing
Good job costing is the key to making
money in construction. You have to know which jobs are making
you money and why. With that information, you know what areas
you need to focus on as well as what kind of jobs you really
want and which ones you're better off letting someone else
have.
At a glance, the Solstice Pro executive
summary tells you whether or not you're making money on your
jobs
and what areas you need to focus on. A pie chart shows total
income and expenses for the job, while bar graphs let you
compare budget vs. actual by cost code or by
class. Finally, you get a summary of labor hours, purchase
orders, and outstanding balance for the job.

Assign Jobs To Specific Handhelds
Solstice Pro provides complete control of
your jobs when managing multiple handheld devices. Simply define
which employees are superintendents, assign the individual handhelds
to those supers, and then assign specific jobs to each superintendent.
If desired, a single job can be assigned to
multiple handhelds. When the handheld is synchronized, it only
receives those jobs assigned to it. Your superintendents will
know which jobs they are responsible for and won't have to
search long lists of jobs for the ones they need.

Create and Manage Crews
Many crews arrive at and leave
a job at the same time. In that case, why waste time tracking
each individual crew member's time on the job? On the Solstice
Pro desktop, you create crews and then assign crew members.
There's
no limit
to the number of crews you can create or the combinations of
employees assigned to the crews. Once a crew exists,
time cards can be created for the entire crew. You can even clock
the crew in and out of jobs together. Solstice does the job
of creating all the necessary individual time cards.

Review Time Cards
Once something is in QuickBooks, it's never
a simple process to just delete the entry. Solstice Pro gives
you or your bookkeeper the ability to review time cards created
on a handheld before they post to QuickBooks. This can be particularly
important when managing multiple handhelds. Time cards are organized
by job and then by employee. You can individually select which
time cards to post to QuickBooks or, if desired, simply "Approve
All" timecards with the click of a
button.

Review Synchronization History
The Solstice Pro desktop provides a two week synchronization history for every licensed handheld. Simply select a handheld from the list and view a history chart showing which days and how many times per day that the handheld synchronized with the desktop.

Create Time Cards
When reviewing time cards, there's no need
to jump to QuickBooks if you find one missing. Simply enter
the time card directly from the Solstice Pro desktop. Time cards
can be created for individual employees or entire crews. Solstice
will also calculate total time worked based on the start and
stop time.
