 Synchronization
A field solution is only as good as its ability to guarantee
data delivery to your accounting system.
Solstice™ synchronization is both robust and flexible,
ensuring the integrity of your data while allowing you to
synchronize when, where, and how you want.
Solstice Data Manager
Included with all Solstice products, the Solstice
Data Manager (SDM) runs in the background, managing and monitoring
the synchronization process. Since SDM acts as an intermediary
between QuickBooks and the Solstice handheld, QuickBooks does
not need to be open in order to synchronize the handheld. Handheld
users can synchronize whenever they choose.
Connection Independent
Solstice utilizes basic IP
addressing and TCP/IP protocols for the synchronization process.
This
means
that
Solstice
synchronization is connection independent. You don't have
to be tethered in order to sync. With the right hardware
and proper setup, you can sync remotely over a WiFi connection,
Bluetooth, or even the
internet.

Data Integrity
Solstice uses a robust “Two Phase Commit” for all
data synchronization operations. This means that for every
piece of data you send or receive, there’s verification
that it happened. There are no partial transfers. If the transfer
is interrupted for any reason, all databases are restored to
what they were before the transfer started. You’re then
free to resynchronize whenever you want.
